Mission Light Partners

Welcome

Mission Light Partners is, as the name implies, a partnership—a community—of artists, educators, and other people of faith who are focused on ministry, the media, and missions in America.  Our aim is to provide ministry opportunities, education about the media, and entertainment alternatives that link art and Biblical truth together by developing and producing ministry presentations, various stories in creative formats such as major motion pictures, television programs, and educational videos.

God’s faithfulness has brought together leaders with deep and wide-ranging professional experience in ministry, media, and missions.  Our purpose is to enhance the expression of the abundant life of the Holy Spirit, as distinguished from “the good life” which our culture pursues headlong.

This expression of that life takes many forms:  helping churches understand and use the media effectively by partnering with creative types, walking alongside the brokenhearted artist who has felt excluded from meaningful ministry, supporting hands-on mission projects that improve life in poor communities in the huge mission field that is America.

We would like to invite you to join us in this endeavor!

Ministry Expressions, 2016

During the calendar year 2016, Mission Light Partners, was engaged in a number of significant ministry endeavors, including:
Mendenhall Ministries rebranding, providing monetary and ministry support, ministry presentations, and encouraging the saints there;
New Life Ministries, headed by Don and Debi Ethredge, headquartered in Charleston, NC, as they refocus their ministry efforts, and rebrand themselves, including their Website;
• Stephen Jahn, Don Ethredge, and Stewart Black as Guest Speakers to youth at Mendenhall Bible Church and Mendenhall Ministries (both coming out of Dr. Perkins' ministry of over 50 years) focusing on experiencing the various expressions of the new life of Christ in us. (The above are cross-cultural mission partners to the poor and predominantly African American) In addition, the three of them also spoke at Lighthouse Community Church, pastored by Rev. Kevin Jones and his wife Rosemary, in downtown Mendenhall, Mississippi, a church reaching out to both the black and white communities of Mendenhall.
• Continued business association with longtime friend and business colleague Doug Momary, Producer/ Director/ Owner of Laguna Productions (Doug and Stephen were partners on the award-winning children's series The New Zoo Revue, now in reruns for 25+ years);
Hollywood Presbyterian Church rebranding and Website, overseen by Colin Jahn;
• Celebration of Jahn Family's 32nd year in mission in Mississippi.

Media News

We are excited at how God is expanding our community of team members!  Four years ago, we welcomed Mike Johnson, an experienced Hollywood writer who has completed the script rewrites and R&D for other projects; Colin Jahn, an experienced Art Director and co-founder of MLP, who has designed the poster for the movie; Stewart Black, a former pastor, current Bible teacher, and website professional, who is working on improving the “look and feel” of our Website; Doug Momary, owner and director of Laguna Productions, in Las Vegas that has, for the last 30 years produced commercials, infomercials, corporate videos, music videos, and Web videos. Doug has been a huge help with budgeting.  Bob Ryan, a free-lance Art Director, Graphic Artist, Writer, Director, and Actor, has also written a series of scripts which we will be looking to produce in various formats in the near future. All of these are in addition to our existing team of Stephen Jahn, Executive Producer and Derek Perkins, son of Dr. John Perkins, a pioneer voice in racial reconciliation in America. Derek is also a gifted writer and fine artist in his own right. (Derek's Facebook Profile and Derek's Book Site on Facebook)

We are encouraged by our progress in establishing practical ministry expressions during the past year and by the ongoing media projects we are still working on.

Ministry Expressions, 2017
