About Us
Our Reason for Being
A frequent complaint heard in the circles of those of us who hold traditional values goes something like this:
“There’s nothing but garbage on television! I can’t sit down with my spouse and kids and watch something together because there’s nothing on that’s entertaining, worthwhile, and appropriate for the whole family!” We’ve all heard this. We’ve even said it ourselves. But if we aren’t willing to become part of the solution to this problem, then what good comes from complaining about it?
There is a famous quotation attributed to Michelangelo, “Criticize by creating.” It is the aim of Mission Light Partners to critique the media offerings of our culture by creating alternatives – alternatives that take timeless truths and express them in winsomely aesthetic, culturally relevant terms to a world that is starving for truth. In short, we hope to make what the New Testament calls “the Abundant Life” accessible to any who will pay attention.

Make no mistake, the Abundant Life is not necessarily a life of abundance. The Abundant Life may lead you to the backwater of some Third World slum helping to provide potable water to the poor. It may lead you to the halls of power in Washington, DC. It may lead you to the lecture halls of Academia. It may lead you to teach English as a second language to people seeking a better life in the inner city.
In our worldview at Mission Light Partners, the Abundant Life is, in essence, the life of following Jesus, wherever He may lead us. Whether or not you share our religious convictions on this score, we believe that you want a life of significance—one that, when lived, makes the world a better place.
